Meet the stallholders: Tea and Cake with…Marianne Hall from Jewels of Isis

Marianne is a jewellery maker and designer from Broughton Gifford in Wiltshire who will be at "It’s darling!" on the Sunday

Hello Marianne, when and why did you start your business?

I was made redundant (happily!) two and a half years ago, and started making jewellery from Ancient Egyptian and Roman beads, at the suggestion of friends who are Antiquities dealers.  I found I really loved it, so progressed onto semi-precious gemstones, silver and artisan lampwork beads.

What inspires you?

My inspiration comes from the beads themselves - sometimes it takes its time, and I hoard beads until they 'tell' me what to do with them!

Why did you want to be part of “It’s darling!”?

I wanted to do the July event, but was already booked elsewhere.  I'm impressed by the amount of marketing that went into it, and the photos that I've seen since demonstrate a lovely range of items for sale.

Will you have any special offers on the 12th?

I’ll be giving free gift boxes/bags.

Describe your ideal Christmas day…

I’m at home with Richard my husband and our dogs and cats.  Bubbly in bed while opening presents with the dogs (a tradition in our house!), followed by a quick ride out on Guinness my horse and the dogs,  roast chicken for lunch, and an evening in front of the log burner with the curtains closed.

Please finish this sentence: Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without….presents!

Finally, what’s your favourite cake?

Actually, I'd rather have nice bag of crisps!  If I am eating cake though, I like Lemon drizzle cake.  and English Breakfast tea.
